Sergio Marchionne, Fiat-Chrysler alliance chief, said Chrysler and Lancia ranges will unite to form a complete range that will be available globally. Chrysler name will disappear from the European market, while Lancia Delta comes to the United States under the name Chrysler. The main problem was that the Lancia range has a model bigger than Delta, and the problem of the is that Chrysler did not have a smaller model, as is Delta. Marchionne decided to solve the problem as simple two brands and will join the end of this year to form a complete range.
Chrysler will gradually disappear from the European market, which has registered a success during its existence. Future products from Chrysler will be sold under the Lancia logo, which are the only versions with other logos and small changes to the European market. On the other hand, Lancia Delta could enter the market in North America in the form that was presented at the International Auto Show in Detroit.
By eliminating the Chrysler brand in the European market, Sergio Marchionne ensure that there will be no conflicts within the alliance of the products of Chrysler and Fiat Group products.
