The Sprinter is a commercial van produced by Daimler that is the market leader in its segment in Europe, and is now sale in the U.S. as the Dodge Sprinter. Daimler describes the Sprinter as a vehicle that sets a new standard in the commercial vehicle market with a unique combination of fuel efficiency and functional interior design. Redesigned for 2007, the new Sprinter features a longer, wider, taller body with more cargo space. Two wheelbases are offer—144 inches or 170 inches. An extended version is also offer on the 170-inch wheelbase with a 15-inch longer rear overhang.

The 2009 Sprinter Van is a 3- or 4-door, up to 5-passenger full size van, available in six trims, ranging from the 2500 144-in. WB to the 3500 170-in. WB EXT. Upon introduction, both trims are equipped with a standard 3.0-liter, V6, 154-horsepower, turbo, diesel engine. A 5-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard. The 2009 Sprinter Van is a carryover from 2008.

The 2009 Dodge Sprinter Van is no longer offer with a gasoline engine but continues to be power by a 154-horsepower 3.0-liter turbo diesel that produces 280 lb-ft of torque. For 2009, a power-sliding door is offer, an upgraded audio system with MP3 capability and a 6-disc CD changer is a stand-alone option.
