2009 Dodge Journey SXT AWD sport utility vehicle 5-door automatic

The Journey is a new midsize crossover from Dodge, built on the same architecture as the Dodge Avenger midsize sedan. With standard 5-passenger seating, Journey offers available third-row seating for SXT and R/T trim levels with rear doors that open 90 degrees for maximum access to the second and third row. The floor behind the front seats contains two standard storage bins, large enough to each hold 12 12-oz cans and the front passenger seat cushion flips up to reveal an additional storage bin.

The 2009 Journey is a 4-door, up to 7-passenger sport-utility, available in 5 trims, ranging from the SE to the RT AWD. Upon introduction, the SE is equipped with a standard 2.4-liter, I4, 173-horsepower engine that achieves 19-mpg in the city and 25-mpg on the highway. A 4-Speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard. The RT AWD is equipped with a standard 3.5-liter, V6, 235-horsepower engine that achieves 15-mpg in the city and 22-mpg on the highway. A 6-Speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard. The 2009 Journey is all-new for 2009.

Based on the same D-segment platform as the Avenger, the 2009 Dodge Journey is a new crossover utility vehicle that fits in between the compact Caliber and family-hauling Grand Caravan. The Journey provides the utility of an SUV, the passenger capacity of a minivan, the driving characteristics of a car and has a multitude of storage bins and spaces. Making its debut into the crossover marketplace, the Journey compares favorably with the Chevy Equinox, Ford Escape, Hyundai Santa Fe and Toyota RAV4, and it's especially ideal for those with families, or those looking to start new families, as it offers different trim levels with a choice of seating configurations and amenities that should suit a variety of needs and budgets.
