2009 Dodge Charger R/T AWD sedan 4-door automatic

The 2009 Dodge Charger stands out from other American mid-size and large sedans for its rear-wheel drive layout, near-ideal weight distribution and with the v8s, muscle-car performance. The Charger is also quite practical, though, with a smooth ride, good interior, trunk space and decent fuel-efficiency on V8 models due to the included Multi-Displacement System (MDS), which can temporarily shut down half of the engine's cylinders when they are not needed. The SRT8 model is a bona fide performance sedan, with acceleration and braking performance that is competitive with some of the top sport sedans from BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Audi.

The 2009 Charger is a 4-door, 5-passenger sports sedan, available in 6 trims, ranging from the SE to the SRT8.Upon introduction, the SE is equipped with a standard 2.7-liter, V6, 178-horsepower engine that achieves 18-mpg in the city and 26-mpg on the highway. A 4-Speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard. The SRT8 is equipped with a standard 6.1-liter, V8, 425-horsepower engine that achieves 13-mpg in the city and 19-mpg on the highway. A 5-Speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard.The 2009 Charger is a carryover from 2008.

R/T models have a 368-hp 5.7-liter V8 and the five-speed auto stick automatic. SRT8 models have a 425-hp 6.1-liter V8 and the auto stick.

The R/T ($31,860) upgrades to leather upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, heated front seats, eight-way power front passenger seat, folding heated mirrors, automatic headlights and 18-inch tires. The R/T AWD ($33,960) adds all-wheel drive. The R/T Road/Track Performance package ($3940) has sportier steering, front side airbags, curtain side airbags, sport seats with suede inserts, performance suspension, front and rear spoilers and P245/45R20 tires on aluminum wheels with black accents. The Daytona package ($4475) has the same equipment, plus remote engine starting, a black grille, body color engine cover, special paint, a performance exhaust system and a special axle ratio.
