2009 Dodge Avenger 4-door R/T Sedan
The 2009 Dodge Avenger is a 4-door, 5-passenger sedan with a sporty appearance. For 2009, the Dodge Avenger has reduced-interior-noise levels, a cabin air-filter system and sunglass holders throughout all trims. A leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls, a rear spoiler, fog lamps and ABS are now standard on the SXT and R/T trims. The R/T now has 18-inch chrome wheels standard. The base model Dodge Avenger has a 2.4L 4-cylinder engine under the hood. This generates 173 hp and is controlled with a 4-speed automatic transmission. The R/T trim benefits from the larger 3.5L V6 and 6-speed automatic transmission; however, the 4-cylinder gets 21 miles to the gallon around town and 30 miles to the gallon out on the highway compared to 16 mpg city/27 mpg hwy for the V6. The 2009 Dodge Avenger standard features include an AM/FM stereo with CD/MP3 player, Sirius satellite radio, Multistage Front airbags, side curtain airbags, keyless entry and an electro-luminescent instrument cluster, which makes reading the gauges at night much easier. Exterior
The Avenger sports a racer-boy look, complementing the Sebring's styling. The rear end looks much like the one on the full-size Charger and the side profile draws elements from the compact Caliber. Up front, the Avenger SE includes a black grille, while the SXT and R/T have a chrome crosshair grille.

Inside, the cabin trades the Sebring's metallic textures for varied shades of plastic. A 60/40-split folding rear seat accommodates longer items from the trunk. For even more-oversized cargo, a fold-flat passenger seat is standard (SXT, R/T). With 100 cubic feet of cabin volume, the Avenger slightly trails the Optima (104) and is about even with the Fusion (100).The 2009 Avenger gets a dark gray interior option, replacing the light gray interior.
