The current Chrysler Sebring sedan was redesigned for the 2007 model year. The convertible sat out '07, returning as an early 2008 model with an optional retractable hardtop. Both body styles are offered in Touring trim levels. Touring models get 17-inch alloy wheels, upgraded audio speakers and LED cabin lighting, while the top-of-the-line Limited features leather trim, automatic climate control and a premium audio system with satellite radio.

Standard on most Chrysler Sebring is a 2.4-liter inline four-cylinder engine rated for 173 horsepower. Optional on the Sebring Touring sedan and standard on Sebring Touring, is a 2.7-liter V6 good for 189 hp that provides much stronger performance when merging and passing. With either of these engines, a four-speed automatic transmission routes power to the front wheels.  This engine is still a tad light on launching power but satisfyingly smooth once it spins up. Fuel economy is below average for all these engines, with the 3.5-liter being particularly poor; when equipped with all-wheel-drive, it delivers gas mileage worse than a 430-hp Corvette.

The Chrysler Sebring competes in the ultra-competitive midsize car category with more daring looks and unique features than most of its competitors.The Sebring is available with three different engines, a 173-hp 2.4-liter four-cylinder, a 189-hp 2.7-liter V6 or a 235-hp 3.5-liter V6. A four-speed automatic is bolted to the 2.4L and 2.7L engines, while the 3.5L gets a six-speed automatic. The sedan has the choice of three different tops, a vinyl soft top, a cloth soft top, or a power retractable hard top. Available trims on the LX, Touring and Limited. Standard safety features include four-wheel ABS, tire pressure monitoring, front, side and curtain airbags.
