Minor audio-system upgrades are the sole changes of note for 2003 to Chrysler's mainstream full-size sedan. Concorde offers LX model. It shares it’s under skin design with the Dodge Intrepid and is also the foundation for Chrysler's sporty 300M near-luxury sedan. Concorde seats five, or six with the optional front bench. The LX has a 200-hp 2.7-liter V6.It use a 4-speed automatic transmission and has 4-wheel disc brakes. ABS is standard on Limited, optional on the others. The Limited and Luxury Touring Group-equipped LXI models get traction control. Front side airbags are optional on all. For '03, the optional in-dash CD changer holds 6 discs instead of four. Concorde's performance and accommodations mirror those of like-equipped Dodge Intrepid.

The first of this full-size family arrives for 2004 with the Dodge Magnum "sport toured" wagon. All LX models borrow some under skin engineering from corporate cousin Mercedes-Benz, including suspension design if not actual components, plus a 5-speed automatic transmission and possibly an antiskid/traction-control system. It's an effort to realize the cost-saving "synergies" promised with Chrysler's 1998 takeover by Daimler-Benz. Engines remain Chrysler's own, with Concorde likely sticking with current V6s, albeit improved. Judging by recent concepts, LX wheelbase should be around 120 inches, some 7 inches up on the current LH design. That implies extra interior room despite little change to other external dimensions. A Concorde convertible had been rumored as part of the '05 program, but its status is now unclear.
